Chocolate Christmas Puddings - a tale of Brandy overload

So you may have received by now our little "Let's Talk Christmas" card in your letterbox, with a super easy recipe on the back!

If you haven't yet received the recipe, don't worry - it's coming soon and we will post it at the bottom of this article for you.

Upon choosing a great recipe for you all, we found this cracker and recently, I decided to give it a go.

Now the recipe was really simple, just like it said!  And if you have a Thermomix, the chocolate melting part is even easier - winning!

I have to be honest here, I deviated from the recipe a little!  The forum suggested if you wanted to make these for adults, you can substitute the orange juice for something such as brandy or rum etc. So I thought, hey I will substitute for Brandy that sounds fabulous.

So I made them, happily dancing along to Christmas carols in the kitchen whilst putting together these little morsels of delight.

Then I tasted them.....uh oh.....brandy overkill!!  Haha, they were so strong!!

I put them in the fridge and let them set anyway, hoping that somehow some of the brandy would escape in the fridge in some kind of Christmas miracle.

It didn't.

So my husband ate 2, so they couldn't have been too bad, but the rest ended up in the bin I am sorry to say! However, they did look alright and pretty close to the recipe card.

So the moral of my story, if substituting the orange juice for alcohol - only put a DASH, not the entire 1/3 of a cup!

So with that said, Merry Christmas everyone - and if you make these, post a pic to our Facebook page so we can see your efforts.
